Why We Chose South Africa for This Constellation Retreat

When we chose South Africa as the location for our recent systematic constellation retreat, it wasn’t just for the land’s breathtaking beauty or the depth of its ancestral presence. It was because we knew that to walk with integrity into the future of Constellation work, we had to feel the roots of the modality, but also of the imbalances that have shaped its evolution.

One of my intentions behind bringing our Alchemical Constellations work to the South Africa retreat was to reexamine a pattern that I have witnessed for years: that while over 80% of participants in Constellation trainings and sessions are women, the field is still disproportionately led by male trainers. Much of the “authority” in this space continues to follow a linear, masculine structure that too often erases the intuitive, the mystical, the Oracle and the deeply feminine ways of knowing.

A Pattern of Suppressed Feminine Wisdom

As I began learning this work, I noticed that the dominant structure of training felt linear, cognitive, and often patriarchal in its foundation. There was a reverence for silence, for saying less, for form and order. But too often, this came at the expense of embodied feeling: the intuitive, mystical awareness, and the emergent voice of the feminine.
In those early years of learning Constellation work, I often felt like a living threat to the containers I was entering. I overwhelmed the facilitators when I spoke with too much presence, when my words spiraled rather than pointed, and when I allowed the invisible to become visible without explanation. I was too much. Too intuitive. Too emotional. Too feminine. And so, I learned to quiet myself. To condense my insights. To suppress the very gifts I now know were the soul of my calling.

This created a split within: between my deep reverence for the modality and my growing awareness that I didn’t fully belong to it as it was. The more I studied, the more I adopted a masculine facilitation as I began to mirror the style of my trainers. I became more structured. More measured. Less mystical. And I wondered: was I being trained into a form that required me to forget my own?

This question was not just personal, it was also systemic. I watched trainees orient more to the method than to their own medicine. I saw gifted people trying to "do it right" rather than follow the portal of their own awakening.

And I knew that if this work was going to evolve with integrity, it had to make space for more than just the lineage of form.

If it had to make space for soul.

It was always a bridge between the seen and the unseen.

Yes, we met the ancestors alive in the field. Yes, we saw the ways the lineage has been shaped by patriarchy, and colonization. And yes, we felt the call to remember something older, wilder, and more whole.

I asked: What if we stopped asking trainees to fit a mold and started inviting them to bring their medicine? What if we invited the Oracle to sit alongside the System? What would it look like to teach this work in a way that restores the feminine?

Not in opposition to the structure, but in partnership with it.

The Feminine as a Portal to Soul-Based Leadership

I believe constellation work is a universal portal. It’s a training ground for remembering our clairvoyance, our cellular memory, our ancestral connection. It teaches us to listen not only to what is visible, but to what is true.

But if we’re not careful, we risk repeating the same patterns of erasure and assimilation we’re trying to heal. If we forget to question the form itself, we can inadvertently reinforce systems that silence the very voices they claim to liberate.

I don’t want to belong to a lineage that shrinks the feminine. I want to belong to a lineage that restores her.

So this post is a love letter to what was left out along the way. To every intuitive, mystical, deep-feeling facilitator who has ever felt “too much” in the training room:

You are not too much. You are exactly what this field needs.

Let’s remember together. Let’s reclaim the feminine in the field. Let’s return constellation work to its soul.

Ready to Reclaim the Feminine in Your Life?

If this speaks to a knowing inside you… If you’ve felt the dissonance between your intuitive gifts and the form you were taught… If you’ve longed for a space where the mystical is not only welcomed but honored…

Join us for our upcoming retreats or courses.

You’ll walk with the Oracle and the Ancestors. You’ll practice attunement to the Field and you’ll be supported to bring your soul’s medicine into your leadership, and your life.

Come spiral with us. Root down. Rise up. Reclaim the feminine.

Because it’s time we stop shrinking to fit the mold. Let’s start remembering what we came here to do.
