Jane Goodall’s Last Words: This Life Isn’t The End

The signature moment in a Seeing with Your Heart experience – the moment I aspire for in each session – is when a circuit forms that releases generations of trauma from the body and opens the heart to love.
Five years ago, in the depths of the global pandemic, Emily and I created online courses as a meeting place for heart-centered inquiry into pathways for nature, ancestor, and spirit consciousness to become fully engaged with the daily challenges of everyday life. Since then, Generational Alchemy, Science Myth & Magic, and the Alchemical Constellations Training have enlivened, lightened, and freed the heart for hundreds of graduates.
Grief and Healing
We often facilitate Constellations for clients whose persistent long-term grief blocks the flow of joy in their hearts. They move through life feeling numb, lacking vitality and dragging from the effort it takes to just to get up in the morning. Our results are extraordinary.
This sharp, unrelenting pain of grief was eloquently described by a client who lost both her parents tragically when she was a child:
“I vividly remember the sensation of frozenness in my heart—a feeling so familiar, I couldn’t recall a time without it. In its milder form, it was a tension in my chest. When intensified, it felt like a stone. And when it grew even stronger, spikes would seem to emerge from that stone, releasing a fierce fire. I carried this fire-breathing stone in my heart for as long as I could remember, not knowing what it was or how to tend to it.”
Consciousness Beyond Death
Why is modern grief so brutal and unbearable? At its foundation is the belief that death is an extinguishment; that there will come a moment when we cease being ourselves and become absolutely nothing. Scientific culture teaches that the universe itself is dead and operates without purpose or meaning, in which case, our consciousness is only a physical process that will not survive bodily death.
This is the widely accepted scientific formula: nothing becomes something becomes nothing.
Jane Goodall, one of the greatest scientific minds of the past century, knew it to be false. From a lifetime of empirical research, she understood the algorithm on planet Earth is: something becomes something else, becomes something else.
From the first time I represented in a Constellation, I felt a familiar inner knowing envelope me. This sort of psychic awareness was not new for me. Since childhood, I had felt informed by visions, dreams, and angelic guides.
What was different was how I could turn on this knowing by opening the doors of my heart. In the dozen plus years since Emily and I founded Seeing with Your Heart, our ability to communicate with the consciousness that survives beyond death has both expanded and refined.
Healing Generational Trauma
Embodying that we become the ancestors of future generations changes everything – from how we live, to how we perceive, how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to life itself.
As the heart awakens, life ceases to feel external or imposed – it reveals itself as an eternal flow.
Seeing with Your Heart engages with nature, self, ancestors, and spirit based on our direct perception. Our tools are simple. We are still and silent, either closing our eyes to tune-in or standing in representation. We open the front doors of the heart to see the familiar with new eyes. We open the back doors to see those who we grew from – our ancestors and evolutionary beings. This creates the circuit that releases generations of trauma from the body and opens the heart to love.
A Client’s Journey to Wholeness
I facilitated a series of three Constellations for the woman whose parents died. In these, I represented her mother and father, and had her feel into their consciousness and also her grandparents and other ancestors.
Feeling her mother and father come alive in me was an immense gift. Their little girl’s close and loving family shattered and she went from a secure home to an indifferent orphanage almost overnight, never understanding the context, only the enormity of her loss.
Hearing her parents speak through me and describe the details of their deaths brought them back. Afterwards, she wrote:
“I could finally say goodbye to my parents. In that farewell, I could also share in the sweet sense of completeness their spirits now feel and the quiet delight they take in the life I am leading. There is no unfinished business left between us. All I need to do is live this beautiful life they’ve gifted me, and honor them by living it fully.”
Life and Death as a Unified Flow
The very first moment we encounter the death of another, there is a reflexive, and sometimes, unconscious response: “I am still alive.”
This realization comes in a flash, followed by a knee-buckling explosion of emotion. Not all who endure the worst behave nobly or consistently, but all, involuntarily, become part of the deeper assertion of life.
By seeing with our hearts, we play with the questions:
- How do we flow with everything the world throws at us and everything we feel inside?
- How can we fully embrace life and accept the inevitability of death?
